Description: This is an interactive presentation focused on cost containment of workers’ compensation claims through appropriate injury identification, forecasting possible complications, selection of the most appropriate care & rehabilitation, and matching the correct equipment/supplies to the injury. The informed case manager ensures cost containment by recognition and prevention of complications. What seems to be a simple injury can become catastrophic. Anecdotal discussions will exemplify the ways to prevent and/or limit such occurrences.

Repetitive Motion Injuries of the Upper Extremity Designated

Description: In the workers’ compensation arena, are these injuries ever compensable? This presentation will provide the tools to answer this question as well as be able to differentiate between neuropathies to assist in the prevention of inappropriate payment of benefits and treatments. Informal discussions to include anecdotal applications to reinforce the learning experience.
