Under proposed New York bill A5217, treatment rendered by a registered and licensed acupuncturist would be compensable, provided the treating physician gave a referral for such treatment. In connection with this proposed bill, the Chair of the New York Workers’ Compensation Board is seeking input from interested parties on fee schedule rates that would be “fair and adequate” for acupuncture services.
